THE POSITIONS

This announcement is an outreach to interested candidates for a temporary seasonal maintenance mechanic position and is part of our Recreation program. The Maintenance Mechanic will be stationed out of Cascade Locks, OR and will assist a higher graded employee in maintaining recreation plumbing, mechanical, structural, electrical and grounds facilities. Work is in all weather and terrain conditions. The incumbent will be a strong team member with a diversity of trade skills.

THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE NSA

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area stretches along the Columbia River between the Deschutes River and the Sandy River in Oregon, and Maryhill and Washougal on the Washington side. The cities of Hood River, The Dalles, Stevenson, White Salmon, and several smaller communities all fall within the Scenic Area. The Portland Metro area borders the Scenic Area 30 miles West of Cascade Locks on Interstate 84. More information about the Columbia River Gorge NSA can be found at at our website.

·  Appointment is limited to 1039 hours from approximately May through October, 2017.

·  Government housing is not available.

·  Work schedule is Mon-Thurs 0700-1530. Some overtime may be available.

·  Must have a valid state driver’s license
