reading? What are your favorite memories / experiences of reading?

o How has reading influenced your life? Has it had a positive or negative influence? Has it made your life richer? easier? harder? other?

o What else do you want to tell me about your history as a reader? Add details, anecdotes you feel are important to understanding and knowing you.

Written Component

· There is no minimum or maximum required length. When each point is THOROUGHLY addressed, your writing will be complete.

· Your written component can take the form of an essay, short story, poetry, etc. As long as ALL of the above prompts are clearly and thoroughly addressed, you may use whichever form of writing you prefer.

· NO MATTER what style of writing you choose, make sure your piece flows as one. You DO NOT want your piece to read as one short answer paragraph after another. Writing one paragraph or stanza on each question and putting them together DOES NOT make an essay/story/poem.

· Print 2 copies of the written literacy biography.

Miscellaneous Notes…

· Each person will have time to interview his/her partner and conference with that partner over revisions of the biography. REMEMBER, you are trying to capture someone ELSE’s experiences accurately. So LISTEN carefully, take good notes, and BE OPEN to revisions!!!

· Students will share their literacy biographies with the class. The method by which we share will be up for discussion, but Ms. Giljum will make the final decision based upon the needs and requirements of the class.

· Each person will have a chance to add a confidential autobiographical note to the biography written about her. This note may include info. you don’t want to tell a partner, but would like me to know.
