The U.S. Embassy in Irelandestablished its Youth Council in December 2013 as part of the Global Youth Initiative supported by the U.S. State Department. The Council has up to 75 members,aged 18-25 years old. The new term begins in January 2018 and members serve on the Council for a one year term, with the option of renewing for a second one year term. Council members participate in networking, professional development and embassy speaker events.

The Youth Council is a collective of people that the U.S. Embassy has identified as young leaders within their respective fields. The purpose of the council is to allow the embassy to engage with Irish youth on areas that are of particular interest to the mission in Ireland, and to further develop the Youth Council members’ leadership skills and professional development. A major component of the youth council is the network of peers that you will develop throughout the year.

  • All applicants must be aged 20-25 years old and be resident in Ireland.
  • Application forms, resumes and reference, are due in either Word or Adobe pdf format by 5pm on Tuesday, January 09, 2017.
