Fall 2011-Spring 2012 Portland Middle School, Portland, MI
Placement included four hours a week in the classroom collaborating with and observing a knowledgeable teacher in a 6th grade social studies classroom. Participation involved creating activities and lesson plans, working with students on an individual basis and in groups, and making accommodations for students with special needs. Observation and practice the implementation of technology to promote interactivity with content beyond reading.
Fall 2010 Dwight Rich Middle School, Lansing, MI
Placement included two hours a week working as a tutor for one student in need of extra assistance in the classroom. Contributed to the administration of classroom management procedures in 7th grade mathematics and engineering classes.
Spring 2010 Everett High School, Lansing, MI
Placement included two hours a week tutoring and participating as an active member of the 21st Century after school program intended for students with disciplinary issues or students in need of academic assistance. Acted as a tutor for a variety of subjects and assistant coordinator for the various daily activities.
