Early Childhood Resource Center Project Update:

February 2009

The Early Childhood Resource Center Project has finished the project’s transition period. All five Early Childhood Resource Centers are open for business! The contract now funds five public libraries to facilitate the availability and accessibility of early childhood materials. This collaboration with public libraries will create broader access of early childhood resources for parents, schools, and for all EEC initiatives, including the Massachusetts Family Network Program (MFN), the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP), Reach Out and Read, Community Partnerships for Children programs (CPCs), Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs), and individual early education and care programs, including informal caregivers and Family Child Care (FCC) systems.

Borrowing early childhood resources is very easy to do! If you live near one of the five sites you can visit and browse to see all of the wonderful resources that they have to offer. Otherwise, you can visit the resources online at the library’s website. When you find an early childhood resource that you would like to borrow you can request it through the Virtual Catalog. The resource will be delivered to your home library. You will also return the resource to your home library in the same manner. Please visit one of these locations soon!
