HOW TO OBTAIN BIRTH / DEATH / MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES OF YOUR LUXEMBOURG ANCESTORS?

· The first place to check is the Administration Communale in the main City Hall of Luxembourg City as they issue all Birth / Death and Marriage certificates; as this office is part of the City Hall of Luxembourg City it also provides Birth Certificates for those born in Luxembourg or residing abroad:

· You can also ask the The Bierger Center for assistance with reclaiming Luxembourg Nationality and providing information on obtaining your Ancestors’ Certificates as they are the central administration office of Luxembourg City which deals with all local administrative formalities:

· You can also ask the local “Commune” (City Hall) of the birthplace or place of death of your ancestor in Luxembourg. List of Communes in Luxembourg: https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/List_of_communes_of_Luxembourg

The archives will have Birth / Death and Marriage certificates from 1795 to 1923
