Able Manufacturing & Assembly LLC, a Joplin MO based OEM supplier to specialty vehicle, agricultural, construction, renewable energy and mass transportation markets, seeks a proven Composites Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work experience in the Composites industry (FRP, GRP, Open & Closed Molding, LRTM) including development and oversight of new product tooling, fixtures, gauges, patterns, production molds and chop spray and gel coat applications. This will be a working engineer position.
Estimation and development of lamination schedules, labor times, tooling costs, and finishing operations is required. The candidate would preferably have familiarity with CNC sheetmetal fabrication, welding, prime and paint, electromechanical testing and final assembly value streams. Familiarity with 2D & 3D design in Autocad & Solidworks required and Catia, Pro-E and UG NT preferred. FEA & FMEA experience a plus.
Successful candidates will have proven track record with APQP, PPAP, ISO9001, QS9000 or TS16949, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology. This individual’s broad technical experience will drive product launches, manufacturing efficiencies, design and process enhancements as part of the Continuous Improvement / KAIZEN approach at ABLE.
This position requires a BS in composites engineering discipline and 5-10+ years of progressive responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
