Director of Data and Analytics

The Diocese of St. Petersburg, Office of Catholic Schools and Centers encompasses five counties of Early Childhood Centers, Elementary and Secondary Schools. We strive for academic excellence through a rigorous curriculum and data driven achievement trends. Our Christ centered facilities utilize best practices to assure student achievement. We are looking for a director of data and analytics to assess the myriad of statistical data that drives the educational needs of our students.

The Director of Data and Analytics will manage academic and school performance data to identify trends, improve practices, and provide analysis to drive critical decision-making processes in instructional and management decisions.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct sophisticated statistical analyses of student achievement data and school information for the primary purpose of improving scholar, teacher, and school performance.

· Manage the development and design of dashboards and other regular reports and analyses for key stakeholders.

· Provide actionable insights on scholar, school, and network performance trends and patterns to various constituencies.

· Use data to drive strategic decisions at the school and network levels.

· Advocate for the use of sound and efficient student data management and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Identify and implement innovative, disciplined and continuously improving processes and systems for managing our data and assessments.

· Standardize post-assessment data reporting using a digital, interactive template that can be used by school leaders, teachers and parents.

· Implement new technologies that allow for faster uptake of data and broaden possibilities for data-driven instruction.

· Merge and maintain databases of historical academic data to create a single, longitudinal database with variables for use in analyses.

· Conduct analytical studies, prepares reports and projections, and advises Superintendent and the Diocesan School Board on student demographics.

· Identify facility needs relating to demographic studies, evaluation of historical data and curriculum plans with input and involvement of appropriate personnel

· Analyzes, recommends and administers organizational structural change in Catholic Schools.

· Leads Office of Catholic Schools and schools in system strategic planning.

· Informs the Superintendent of Schools through regular written and oral reports, regarding project progression and services provided to the various diocesan school entities.

· Professionally interacts with diocesan representatives, pastors, principals, staff members, Diocesan School Board members.

· Maintains confidentiality in all areas of responsibility as required.

Qualifications are:

· An undergraduate degree (graduate degree preferred) in Organizational Development or related field, combined with at least three years’ experience in demography, urban and regional planning, geography or related field, and student achievement data

· Experience working with a high-performance team with the ability to set and use goals to guide action, to objectively measure performance and to provide timely feedback and support;

· Knowledge and experience with statistical modeling in education.

· Knowledge of computer applications for student achievement data, student management, demographic analyses, forecasting, research and graphics a plus.

· Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word; working knowledge of PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
