DEPUTY GRAND MARSAHL
Keith Purce
Keith Purce was born in 1966 in the Bronx and currently resides on McLean Avenue in Yonkers. He met his wife Mary in the Lehman College Irish Society and has four children, Kevin, Sean, Kieran and Cecelia. He started working for the phone company and joined CWA Local 1101 in 1987. He has always been an active union member and he became a Shop Steward in 1990, right after a four month strike against NYNEX in which NYNEX was trying to get the union to pay for medical benefits. After many battles, grievances and strikes Keith was elected President of CWA Local 1101 in 2012.
He has only the fondest memories of going Rockaway from when he was a little child, as a teenager and then when he brought his own children down to the beach.. A perfect day is spending time with your family friends at the beach, then going up to the house and taking the most refreshing shower you could ever have before going out for a night on the town.
I would like to thank the Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Cultural Committee for honoring me as Deputy Grand Marshal.
