Establish a connection

Once the DeployMe App has been installed, it can operate without an internet connection (offline). However if you don’t connect through the internet, you won’t get up-to-date information at the time of a disaster.

Using Wi-Fi Connection

The DeployMe App will automatically update content if you open the app while connected to Wi-Fi. You can connect to Wi-Fi through a hotspot or other available source.

Every mobile device uses an icon to show they have a current Wi-Fi connection. See Apple and Android examples below.

Using Mobile Data

If there are no Wi-Fi connections available, smartphones and some tablet computers support internet connections through mobile telephone networks (either 3G or 4G).

You can choose to connect to the app using a mobile data connection however your data plan may have a limit imposed by your telecommunications provider. Once your limit has been exceeded the charges for mobile data connectivity usually rise significantly!

For this reason the app’s default setting does not allow data to be received through mobile networks – IT IS TURNED OFF.

You can decide if you want to allow mobile data updates. The steps below show how it can be enabled.

Disclaimer: Please be aware of possible mobile data carriage costs charged by your telecommunications provider before using the DeployMe application via mobile data.

The DeployMe App may display, include or make available content, data, information or materials from third parties (‘social feeds’) or provide links to certain websites.

By using the DeployMe App on your personal device via mobile data, you acknowledge and agree that the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (Application Provider) is not responsible for any data costs you may incur.

To turn mobile usage ON:

1. In the Menu Pane, swipe the Update via mobile data switch to ‘ON’ (orange for Android, green for iOS).

Accessing notifications

From time to time Ready Reserves who have installed the app and are connected to Wi-Fi, or have chosen to use mobile data, will receive notifications through DeployMe.

To turn Notifications OFF:
