GLEN E. STRUCHTEMEYER

Director, Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System

Mr. Struchtemeyer has been serving as Director Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) since his appointment in May, 2009. Director Struchtemeyer came to CAVHCS after serving as the Director of the St. Louis VA Medical Center since August 2004.

As Director of CAVHCS, Struchtemeyer oversee services providing health care to more than 134,000 Veterans in 43 counties of Southeastern Alabama and West Georgia through CAVHCS’ Medical Centers in Tuskegee and Montgomery as well Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Columbus, Ga., Dothan Ala., and a VA Wiregrass Outpatient Clinic on Fort Rucker in Enterprise, Ala.

Prior to his appointment in St. Louis Director Struchtemeyer served as Director of the Louis A. Johnson VAMC in Clarksburg, West Virginia from March 2001. The Louis A. Johnson VAMC is an acute and intermediate secondary care facility offering medical, surgical, and psychiatric services. Before his service at the Clarksburg VAMC Mr. Struchtemeyer was the Associate Director at the Gulf Coast Health Care System in Biloxi Mississippi. Mr. Struchtemeyer also served as Acting Director at the Alexandria Louisiana VAMC.

Mr. Struchtemeyer received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University in 1973. In 1994, Mr. Struchtemeyer completed studies at the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives, George Washington University.
