RE: Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) Mandatory Contracts for Wireless Telecommunications Services and Equipment

The Department of General Services Procurement Division (DGS/PD) is pleased to announce the availability of the new mandatory WSCA contracts with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon for Wireless Telecommunications Services and Equipment.

These contracts feature wireless phones and a limited number of voice/data wireless service plans, which combine significant savings and flexibility in selecting a wireless provider that meets the State departments’ operational and functional needs.

At this time, PCOs, PACs and Department Agency Telecommunications Representatives (ATRs) are encouraged to review and begin transitioning current wireless services plans to the new service plans identified in the individual contract pricing worksheets. In accordance with the contract requirements, the ATRs will be the only authorized purchasers and should begin migrating their wireless services to whichever provider(s) and plan(s) to best fit their business needs.

As a reminder, departments may conduct business with any of the wireless providers. The use of these WSCA agreements do not require further competition but as always, cost should be a consideration.

It is strongly advised to thoroughly read the individual user instructions and strive to complete your transition to the new service plans by Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in order to achieve optimum savings as quickly as possible.
