SOUL SURVIVOR 2017 With Trinity Youth

Dear young people and parents,

We are so excited for Soul Survivor 2016

This is our 4th year going from Trinity Churches

We are looking forward to spending time with the wonderful Trinity Youth!

Please read through this booklet and bring back the forms to Matt Guilder or the Church office by the deadlines.

It’s worth saying that Soul Survivor is a brilliant Christian event and has a very evangelical outlook on Christianity. All our Leaders will be around to chat with young people for ANY reason. Especially if you see something you have not seen before or have questions.

Also we allow the young people to respond how they wish there will be no pressure or direction from us as leaders.

Any questions speak to Matt

God bless

Soul Survivor Rules

When you're on site you should be having fun, making new friends, enjoying the atmosphere and all the rest. However, there are just a few things, in addition to what the bible teaches, that we ask you to not do whilst you're at Soul Survivor. Abiding by these means you get a smooth ride with little hassle from our law enforcing stewards. There's also some safety advice below too... Read up and learn.

The rules...
1) Youth Leaders are responsible for their under 18’s at all times.

2) Strictly no alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia on site - except for medical purposes. Anyone found in possession of drugs or alcohol will be evicted from the site and refused further entry to the event. Furthermore, all drug-related incidents will be dealt with by our Chief Stewarding team and the police representatives on site.

3) After arrival, all vehicles must be moved to the designated car parks in order to comply with official Fire & Safety regulations. The only cars allowed on site during Soul Survivor are emergency vehicles or those displaying a valid disabled sticker.

4) Event badges must be worn at all times - they are the only way to get into venues. There is a charge to replace lost passes.

5) Smoking is not permitted inside buildings, marquees or individual tents.

6) No mixed-tent/caravan/accommodation on site i.e. No boys and girls sleeping in the same space unless married.

7) Ball games are to be finished by 10pm - even if there is a nil-nil outcome.

8) Roller blading, skateboarding or cycling can only occur after dark if you have appropriate lighting.

9) However hot it gets, and tempting it seems, there is to be no swimming in the lake.

10) Tents or caravans can only be moved to another village with prior permission from Information. This is essential in the event of needing to contact you in an emergency and to maintain site security. However, there are no guarantees that you will be able to move to a different location.

11) No speeding. When arriving/leaving the showground or unloading/packing up please observe the 10mph speed limit at all times. Please also note, driving lessons are not permitted on site - even though your friends may well be justified in begging you to take more.

12) No parking on site (except in designated car parks). Fire and safety regulations prohibit this. Cars may be forcibly removed if they are parked illegally on the campsite.

13) Pets are not allowed on site - except guide dogs (on arrival Guide dogs should take their owners to Information).

14) No crossing into any area that has been marked out of bounds by red and white tape.

15) Soul Survivor wishes to make clear that it does not favour sectarian propaganda or proselytising within the Christian fellowship. This means any individual or group that uses Soul Survivor and its facilities for such purposes does so against the spirit of the event. The organisers reserve the right to cancel any such person or group’s booking and escort them off the site/premises immediately.

16) Soul Survivor cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to persons or personal property.

Safety tips..
Soul Survivor is a pretty safe place to be. However with over 10,000 young people on site at any one time it's good to be a little aware. Here's some tips!

Be street-wise - don't go off with strangers, don't arrange to meet anyone in dark corners of the site, and at night make sure you go to your own bed (sleep walking is not a great excuse!).

No campfires. Eat the marshmallows raw (they're less messy that way).

Stay in groups of two's and threes after dark.

Keep gas cylinders away from tents - not in them! On that point, no birthday cakes with candles, no lighters or any other naked flames near the tents.

Respect the property and buildings on the Showground.

Remember to drink lots of water. Even if it' s raining (likely), but especially if it's sunny (unlikely)… …and should the shy English summer sun decide to grace us with its presence, please (in the words of Baz Luhrman) "use Sunscreen".

Make sure your youth leader always knows where you are. On the loo… in the shower…

Youth Leaders
You are responsible for the young people you bring. Soul Survivor takes every precaution to make the conference a safe place for young people but you are responsible for your individuals.

Asthmatics
Remember to keep your inhalers with you and use them! If you are on any form of medication, please remember to continue taking it during the conference. If you have a serious medical condition please check in with First Aid so that they are made aware.

And finally - be sensible
Don't leave your brain (or any other essential anatomical items) at home. Use common sense regarding your safety while at Soul Survivor.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES WILL MEAN A PARENT OR GUARDIAN

WILL NEED TO PICK YOU UP!
