GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL PROGRAMS
Fees / 2018: $15002019: $2200
Practical Experience / 200 hours of clinical practice within Royal Perth Hospital (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm) and some on call availability.
External Placements / In some circumstances, a student may be permitted to fulfil part or all of their clinical placement in a setting other than Royal Perth Hospital. Additional fees will apply.Please contact us to discuss your particular situation before submitting your CPE application.

Bush CPE / Each CPE program includes a three-day experience of team building and individual reflection in an isolated outdoor setting. Two nights away from home will be required.

Semester 2 2019 / 2A: 3 July – 29 November 2019 (mostly Thursdays and Fridays every three weeks, IN ADDITION to 200 hours of clinical practice)

SEMESTER 2A 2018: June-October, Part-time
Thursday evenings plus additional days at

This is a part-time unit over 20 weeks.
THIS UNIT IS NOW FILL
SEMESTER 2B2018 :July-October, Part-time
Thursdays and Fridays plus an additional day at
Royal Perth Hospital
This is a semi-intensive unit requiring a 3 day/week commitment for 15-16 weeks
Thursdays and Fridays / 5 July –19 October
8:30am – 5:00pm
This time will include classroom activities, individual supervision and 100 hours of clinical practice.
Mid-program Bush Experience / Friday – Sunday (24-26 August)
NO CPE Thursday 23 August
Graduation / 5pm Thursday 25 October
Clinical practice / An additional 100 hours (7.5 hours/week) of clinical practice is required during the course. This would normally be scheduled as one additional day 8:30am-5:00pm (Monday-Wednesday), each week for the duration of the course. The option exists for a partial external placement.
On call / Students will be expected to available for the on call roster.
Reading, reflection and homework assignments / Approximately 100 hours of reading, reflection, write-up of pastoral encounters, mid-term and final self-evaluations and other homework tasks is anticipated over the period of the CPE unit. This equates to 6-7 hours/week.

SUMMER 2018-2019: November 2018 – February 2019, Full-time

This is a full-time unit (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm) for 11 weeks in addition to a 2 week Christmas break.

Clinical practice / An ADDITIONAL 100 hours (7.5 hours/week) of clinical practice is required during the course. This would normally be scheduled as one additional day 8:30am-5:00pm (Monday-Wednesday), each week for the duration of the course. The option exists for these additional hours to be completed as an external placement. Additional fees apply.
On call / Students will be expected to available for the on call roster(5 x week nights during the unit) and be available for one on-site Saturday/Sunday or Public Holiday shift during the second half of the unit.

This is a part-time unit run over 22 weeks, requiring a 15 hour/week commitment.

#Mid-program Bush Experience / Thursday – Saturday (5-7 Sept)
Graduation / Friday 29 November
Clinical practice / An additional200 hours of clinical practice is required during the course. This would normally be scheduled as 2 days/week at Royal Perth Hospital during non-classroom weeks. Options to complete part or all of the clinical practice external to RPH exist, however additional fees apply.
On call / Students doing their clinical practice at RPH will be expected to available for the on call roster (5 x week nights during the unit) and be available for one on-site Saturday/Sunday or Public Holiday shift during the second half of the unit.
Individual Supervision / 10 sessions of individual supervision will be provided as part of the course. These will be scheduled on Thursdays or Fridays at RPH.
Reading, reflection and homework assignments / A minimum of 100 hours of reading, reflection, write-up of pastoral encounters, mid-term and final self-evaluations and other homework tasks is anticipated over the period of the CPE unit. This equates to a minimum of 5 hours/week.
