Conn…………thanks for the e-mail.
After 20+ years as a principal, this was a new experience for all of us, including the High School League.
We will be doing a pep fest today for the girls, they had their banquet on Sunday night, that event helped heal some wounds I think. Our Supt. and AD did a nice job of talking them through the facts and the issues at hand. There were some pretty angry parents. They also talked about taking the “high road” as a dance team and parent group and we asked them to support whatever the decisions might be down the road by the HS League, so we are moving ahead.
They appear to be weathering the storm as most kids eventually do, they are hurt and disappointed about how it all ended for them at the tournament. As you stated we will all learn and heal from this incident.

Having never met, I am sorry that this is the first communication we have had. I just want you to know that I am sorry for the actions our team took in the state dance award ceremony on Saturday. It does not reflect what we hope to display as a school or teach our students. We were wrong. We will learn from this. We will be better.
