Dear Mr. Sweeney:
I am writing as a mother to express my opposition to the opening of a strip club, Lone Wolf, on Seventh Avenue and Prison Alley in Hudson. I hope you will join me in supporting the Hudson Planning Commission's measure to halt the opening of this club. You have the opportunity to send a clear signal that you do not approve of these clubs in our communities by pledging not to accept campaign contributions from strip club owners and returning the money you have already accepted. .
As you may know, the club planned to open at the end of this week. The location of this establishment is particularly inappropriate because it faces the beautiful town square and park. This business is not only a blight on the town of Hudson, but a real affront to parents like myself who are seeking to raise our children in communities free of such establishments.
Sadly your record in this regard does not give me much confidence that you will join me in protecting our community. For example, you have already taken $2,350 from the owner of DiCarlos, a strip club located in Colonie, and you made Harwood McCart, an Albany strip club owner, your highest paid campaign staffer in the 2002 election cycle.
Congressman, I hope you will join me in opposing the opening of the Lone Wolf, immediately return the $2,350 you took from Salvatore DiCarlo, and pledge not to take contributions from strip club owners in the future.
