Composition # All Quiet on the Western Front

General Sherman during the American Civil War maintains that war “is all hell.”
This view is clearly shared and depicted by Erich Maria Remarque in All Quiet on the Western Front. In a well-developed paragraph, use specific detail/examples from the novel to support this thesis.
PARAGRAPH STRUCTURE:
1. Topic sentence: Include the author, title, and topic of paragraph.
2. Body:
a. Choose 3 specific and diverse examples from the text.
b. Order your examples (Suggestion: by area/category)
c. Imbed your examples in explanatory analysis that relates back to the topic.
d. Have at least one good quote to support the analysis for each self- evident/example.
e. Use transitions of your own creation (TR/A) in a SEPARATE sentence before each self-evident/example.
f. Use a “stock” transition before the clincher.
g. Use thread words (synonyms) in paragraph to keep your focus on your topic.
3. Clincher – Give a conclusion as to the reason(s) why Remarque is revealing what war is really like.
