Mr. Hufnagel

Course Description:

This course is recommended for students planning to pursue business at the post-secondary level as well as preparing for an entry-level position in the business world. Emphasis is placed on further developing competencies in the Accounting Principles and Procedures. To begin the course, we will explore different career opportunities within the field of accounting. From there we will learn the basics of double-entry accounting and how to organize financial data to illustrate the health of a business entity.

Students are provided with an understanding of the environment in which accounting information is developed and used. As the year progresses, we will shift emphasis from preparation of accounting into its interpretation and use. A wide variety of problem solving material is used to challenge students’ analytical abilities.
