POSITION: Case Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SUPERVISES: Volunteers as assigned

LOCATION: Morris County office or Sussex County office as assigned

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Case Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, supervision and management of all volunteer activity. The Case Supervisor will develop and maintain professional relationships with all appropriate parties including judges, the court staff, lawyers and state and community agencies. The Case Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with the recruitment, screening and training of all volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field

· Minimum of 3 years work experience in a related field or experience as a CASA volunteer

· The ability to communicate with and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles

· Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics of families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Computer knowledge (Word, Excel)

· Ability to work independently

· Commitment to CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties goals and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Case Management

· Attend court hearings and Child Placement Review Board (CPRB) hearings

when appropriate

· Review case files to match CASA case with appropriate volunteer

· Respond to orders when assigned by judge or any interested party

· Keep necessary records as described by case management procedures both

hard copies and in CASA Manager

· Develop initial case plan and on-going strategies to assist volunteer advocacy

Volunteer Supervision

· Attend court days/hearings and meetings when CASA volunteer is not available

· Accompany CASA volunteer on first visit of case, visit prior to reunification and other visits as needed

· Make a minimum of one monthly contact with each volunteer and receive monthly logs from each volunteer

· Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer case records in accordance with case management procedures

· Be available for consultation and assistance to all volunteers

· Review, edit and distribute court and CPRB reports

· Complete and submit Court reports if it is not completed by the CASA volunteer

· Act as liaison for volunteers not assigned to a case to encourage continued participation as Advocate

Volunteer Training

· Assist with volunteer recruiting, screening and interviewing when appropriate

· Assist with training of volunteers and be prepared to critique volunteers throughout training

· Assist with and attend CASA volunteer in-services

· Assist with and attend swearing-in ceremonies

Program Activities

· Complete CASA Volunteer Training

· Attend and participate in staff meetings and on committees as assigned

· Attend conferences and workshops as appropriate

· Assist in orientation of new staff, interns and volunteers

· Assist in volunteer appreciation events and all program events when possible

· Offer constructive feedback to improvements and advancements for the CASA organization

· Support and assist with events, committees and activities for fundraising and community outreach

· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
