Chorus Members and Parents –
We have a number of required extra rehearsals and performances this semester that you need to mark on your calendar - please. I have put them on different days in order to better accommodate your many after-school commitments. Dates are listed on the reverse side of this note. What a BUSY and full spring schedule it is!
Pick-up from rehearsals will be in front of the school at 4:00, nearest the exit door at the front office. I will make every effort to end rehearsals on time and hope that you will be here then for pick-up.
Please note that students MUST be picked up no later than 15 minutes after each listed ending rehearsal time or they will be escorted to Extended Day on the “8th grade hall” where you will have to pay the designated fee of $5.00 per hour (or portion thereof) for the supervision they receive there.
Our evening show for families and friends will be Thursday night, April 21, at 7:00 PM in the Davidson High School auditorium. This is our only fundraiser each year, and we sell tickets to cover costs for music, props, costumes, etc. Tickets will be $5.00 per seat and be sold in advance in April. This will allow guests to arrive and find a good seat immediately rather than waiting in the ticket line on the night of the show. Seating selection will be “first come, first seated.” Students will get more info on this as we get closer to that time.

NOTE: All rehearsals are in our classroom. 2:40 start times are due to VLS’s after school duty outside.
Thursday, March 3 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:35 PM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday, March 8 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:40 PM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday, March 16 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:35 PM to 4:00 PM
This will be our official call-back AUDITIONS date for solos & small groups. We will
rehearse the choral parts of the selections as we have auditions.
Monday, March 21 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:40 PM to 4:00 PM - classroom
Tuesday, March 29 (HONOR CHOIR ONLY) – Performance @ Mitchell Center @ 7 PM (Call time 6 PM)
Thursday, March 31 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:35 PM to 4:00 PM - classroom
Tuesday, April 5 – Bring red cummerbund & tie to school in large ziplock bag.
Exchange it for new assigned color for spring show.
TICKET SALES BEGIN for April 21 evening show.
Wednesday, April 6 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:40 PM to 4:00 PM – classroom
Saturday, April 9 – Sunday, April 17 – SPRING BREAK
Monday, April 18 - After-school REHEARSAL from 2:35 PM to 4:30 (or 5? – TBA) PM
Wednesday, April 20 - After-school FINAL REHEARSAL from 2:35 PM to 4:30 (or 5? - TBA) PM
Thursday, April 21 – EVENING PERFORMANCE @ 7:00 PM for families and friends at DHS.
Wear formal wear (tux shirt, studs, assigned cummerbund & tie, dress pants/skirt, and dress
shoes & socks). “Call time” TBA (probably between 4 & 5 PM since this will be our ONLY rehearsal in DHS’s auditorium prior to the show). Parents will drop you off and return in time for seating when the doors open at 6:30. You should be through no later than 8:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance as well as on the night of the show. ALL seats are $5.00 each. Parent volunteers will be needed to assist with ticket sales and program distribution.
PPS school performances for faculty and students are not scheduled at this time due to
renovation of the gym. Even if it is completed by that time, it may not be “show ready” with sound, etc. More info will follow if this changes.
Thursday, May 26?? – IN SCHOOL “Meet and Weep” PERFORMANCE @ for 8th graders??
Wear chorus t-shirt (7th graders) or blue “Survivor” shirt (8th graders) with
uniform bottoms & shoes (unless we’re given permission to wear jeans &
tennis shoes). More details about this will follow as they become available.
