Do it Yourself Easter Shirt

Follow these instructions from Michaels.com to make a cool Easter T-shirt for yourself or someone else.

What You Need:

· Tulip Soft® Fabric Paint:

Yellow

· Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™:

Black

· Fluorescent Orange Slick

· Leaf Green

· Tulip® One-Step Tie-Dye Kit™:

Yellow

· Tulip ® Fashion Form™

· T-shirt – white – 100% cotton

· Spray Bottle

· (2) Plastic Tablecloths

· Paper Towels

· Acrylic Paintbrush

· Disposable plate

· Chalk pencil

Instructions:

Prewash shirt to remove sizing. Protect work surface with plastic tablecloth. Lay damp T-shirt on work surface.

Wearing gloves from dye box, add water to dye bottle, filling to line. Replace cap tightly then shake until dye is dissolved. Pour into spray bottle.

Spray the bottom third of shirt. Fill spray bottle with water to dilute remaining dye in bottle and shake to mix. Spray the middle third of shirt. Repeat process, further diluting color, then spray onto the top third of shirt.

Cover shirt with plastic tablecloth to keep damp. Let set 6 to 8 hours or longer for most intense color. Rinse in running water until excess dye is removed then wash separately in a large load of hottest water suitable for T-shirt fabric and a small amount of laundry soap. Dry separately.

Insert Fashion Form inside T-shirt.

Squeeze a puddle of Sunshine Yellow Soft Fabric Paint on disposable plate. Use paintbrush to create three 2½” x 1¾” ovals across the top front of T-shirt as shown. Let dry. Tip: If needed, use chalk pencil to first create shapes before filling in with paint.

Squeeze dots of Black Slick 3D Fashion Paint inside each oval for eyes.

Squeeze squiggles of Leaf Green Slick at the base of each oval for grass as shown.

Use Fluorescent Orange Slick to create hair, arms and beaks, using photo as a guide.

Use Fluorescent Orange to create the words “my peeps” beneath the chicks.
