Celebrate the Fourth of July in Arvada

Celebrate the Spirit of America with your family and friends at Arvada's star-spangled annual Fourth of July celebration on Sunday, July 4th at the Lutz/Stenger Complex, W. 58th Avenue just west of Kipling starting at 3:00 PM. Spend a day of free family fun with music, activities for children, games, food concessions, community booths, car show and military display. The event is presented by Arvada Festivals Commission, KOOL 105 Radio, Apex Park and Recreation District, and City of Arvada. Over 1,000 hours of volunteer and staff time was contributed to producing this event.

Get ready to party at 3:00 PM with great music provided by the legendary KOOL 105 Radio, featuring classic rock hits from the 60's to the 90's. This year's entertainment will play all afternoon including DJ music and a live band.

Fireworks will fly as Arvada's spectacular display bursts into the sky at about 9:00 PM. Colorful blasts of light will dance to the KOOL 105 simulcast music medley especially choreographed to a collection of great oldies and patriotic music. The fireworks show lasts about 25 minutes and is set off by pre-programmed computers.

Other free family-friendly events to keep you entertained throughout the afternoon and evening include:

· Kids' Park featuring several inflatables, temporary face tattoos, video games, and more fun activities;

· Mini Classic Car Show;

· Arvada Fire Protection District's Safety House;

· Fire trucks and emergency vehicles on display from Arvada Fire Protection District and Pridemark;

· A military display provided by the Marines;
