CLE Credit Submission by Spreadsheet FAQ

1. What is the website address?

https://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/attysvcs/cle/sponsors/Login.aspx

2. I want to download a blank spreadsheet. How do I do that?

After you have logged into the system, click on “Download Excel Spreadsheet” and follow the prompts.

3. How does the spreadsheet work?

A specially formatted Microsoft Excel spreadsheet has been developed for sponsors to use to submit attorney attendance credits for approved activities. To get started, a sponsor must provide the Office of Attorney Services with one designated email address for its organization to use. Sponsors will receive a password and emails regarding the submission of spreadsheets at the designated email address. After we receive a sponsor’s email address, an email will be sent to the sponsor with a password and the link to log on to the CLE Credit Upload website.

Sponsors must use the specially formatted Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to report continuing legal education credit. This document will always be available on the website. The spreadsheet should be downloaded to your desktop. We recommend that you set up icons on your desktop for the Excel spreadsheet and the CLE Credit Login.

On the spreadsheet, you will input the attorney registration number, the activity code number and the number of CLE hours for each of the attorneys who attended the course. A maximum of 200 attendance credits can be submitted on one spreadsheet.

4. What types of credits can be submitted through the spreadsheet?

A sponsor may submit attendance credits for all approved courses, including new lawyer training programs, in-house programs, and self-study programs.

5. What happens after I submit a completed spreadsheet?

When you press the button to upload a spreadsheet, you will receive a message telling you whether or not the upload was successful. The message will include a batch number that you should reference if you have any questions. You may want to rename your spreadsheet to include the batch number for easy reference.

Step 1: Upload File

Step 2: Success!

If the upload is not successful, you will see a message similar to this:

Please review the list of error messages found under FAQ question 18 for information about the specific error messages.

You will immediately receive an email that lists the number of records successfully uploaded, sorted by activity code. The email will also list any errors that have occurred. Please review the email carefully and compare errors with the information you entered on the spreadsheet. An error could simply be a transposed attorney registration number or activity code or there may be an issue with the number or type of credits approved for a particular activity. Please review the list of error messages found under FAQ question 18 for more information.

Please keep in mind, that when you submit corrections, you will need to create a new spreadsheet that contains just the corrections. If you resubmit the original spreadsheet with corrections, you will receive duplicate submission errors for all the records that were previously uploaded successfully.

6. What type of credits cannot be submitted through the spreadsheet?

Teaching credits cannot be submitted through the spreadsheet. Please have the speaker complete a request for teaching credit (Form 2) and mail to the Office of Attorney Services.

7. What should I do if I discover that I made an error on the spreadsheet? How do I make a correction?

If you have not yet uploaded the spreadsheet, you should make all corrections on the spreadsheet prior to submitting it.

If you have already uploaded the spreadsheet, you will need to send an email to requesting that an attorney’s credit be corrected. Please include the attorney registration number, activity number, and number of CLE credits.
