If a car is not in compliance, it may be adjusted by the owner and resubmitted, however we encourage all cars to be in compliance when presented for inspection.

The District Pinewood Derby will be contested in the four (4) Eligible Rank Brackets; in a Lane Rotation format to determine race winners. Lane Rotation means that each car will run once in each lane.

Winners are determined by the fastest cumulative time of all races. Where multiple tracks are used and differences of more than 0.010 seconds are found during setup, a run off round of the top 4 finishers from each track will compete on a single track to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.

a. Lanes will be assigned by race officials.

b. Cars, after check in, are only to be handled by the Race Staff.

c. Timing and scoring shall be done by means of electronic timers, and computer calculation.

d. Races that result in a tie between 2 or more cars (for place finish) will require a face-off race of only the cars involved in the tie.

e. If a car jumps the track or leaves the racing surface/area and interferes with another car the race will be re-run. If no interference occurs the race will not be re-run. Cars leaving their lanes 3 times in a row will be disqualified.

f. No part of the car may be in front of the track-starting pin. In addition, the front of the car may not be made in such a manner that the car leaves the starting position prior to the other cars (use of sticky substances against starting pin, extra high front end, etc.)

g. Sideline interference or disruption with the event will cause the offender to be removed from event area.

h. Decisions by Race Officials are final and not subject to appeal.
