Biology Choice Board – Cells

Choice 1

3-D Model

In this project you will make either a plant or animal cell. You may use any material you wish as long as all the organelles listed below are shown in the cell and in the appropriate places. Each organelle needs to be labeled in some fashion. The model must have a title, your name and your block number. You must also present your project to the class and explain how it was made, explain where each organelle is located and the function of each organelle.

Choice 2

Song/Rap

For this project you will make a song about a plant cell or animal cell. You can use a childhood song or make up your own melody. The song must include all the title, which type of cell you are writing about, all the organelles in that type of cell and their functions. For your presentation, you must perform the song to the class. Then you will teach the other students the song and you will all sing it together. It may help to have copies of the song or have it incorporated into a PowerPoint presentation.

Choice 3

Learning Map

For this project you will map a double bubble map where you will compare and contrast the plant and animal cell. You should use a diagram of an animal cell and a diagram of a plant cell as the center circle for each cell. The similar organelles should be labeled in the middle between the two circles and the differences should be labeled on the other side of the corresponding cell. You need to present your map to the class, explaining the similarities and differences in the plant and animal cells.
