Painting Pottery ‘Drop In’ with Claire Maris

Feeling arty? Drop into the shop any time Saturday 1st October and try your hand at painting some pottery for fun or for your loved ones for Christmas. Items start from as little as £3.00 and Claire can guide you to get the best out of using under-glaze paints and how to apply......not quite as simple as it looks, but absolutely great fun! When complete your piece will go off to be fired in the kiln and returned the following week looking amazing!!

Sewing Appliqué with Lesley De Gruchy

Indulge in a morning workshop of comical natter and chatter whilst making a simple Tote bag and adding scraps of fabric to design your own bespoke piece of artistic appliqué. Please bring your own sewing machine and scissors, if you do not have a sewing machine please request when booking.

Forestry Pine Cone Decorating

Come and have fun learning the skill to decorate pine cones for Christmas using a glue gun with natural materials. This year’s theme is based on forestry animals and must have angels. A simple course that can then be used at home with the children or grandchildren during the Christmas holidays.......they will love it!!!

These dates are set for a ‘drop in’ event, so no need to book and may be extended to 4.00 pm subject to demand.

All ages welcome and supervised. Make personalised gifts, labels, Christmas hanging decorations and much more. Learn the skill to burn your designs onto wooden boxes, key rings, heart shapes, plaques, Christmas shapes, animal shapes and these are just some of the items available to decorate.
Why not try your hand at Calligraphy or Zentangle Art. Guidance on transferring designs onto wood, as well as advice on lettering and drawing a pencil guideline directly to the surface. No artistic skills necessary as a choice of designs will be available. However, feel free to look up ideas on the internet ‘Pyrography Ideas’ and bring along any designs you have in mind.

Crochet for Beginners with Anne Flanagan
Friday 29th October
10.30 am -12.30 pm
There is nothing that Anne does not know about crochet, so why not join her in a Chatter and Cro morning. Anne teaches in a way that you will find very easy, so you will learn simple stitches and how you can use them to create your masterpiece. Cheap acrylic yarn is perfect for this course. Helpful work sheets will be handed out. I shall be on this course too!

Think of all those sumptuous types of yarns you can buy today, cotton, alpaca, silk, merino, mohair, angora these are just some to name a few. As you already have the basic skills to crochet why not come along and improve those stitches. Work in circles, basic pattern/diagram reading and more. Please bring 4.5 hook and two/three different coloured balls of acrylic double knitting yarn, along with a pen and scissors.
