Scope of Work

The Town of Wainwright is inviting Contractors to express interest in furnishing equipment related to the support the flood control project in the Town of Wainwright on an as need basis. Included in the scope of services is gravity feed and force main pipeline installation including crossings of sensitive pipelines and utilities as well as pipeline inlet and outlet interfaces.

The contractor will be supplied with all pipe and materials required to complete the required installations.

Description of Work

This site requires a local contractor who is able to supply the necessary equipment and skilled labor to support the major contractors of the Town of Wainwright Flood Control Project, within 24 hours of request. The work will include installation of smaller runs of pipelines interfacing the work done by the major contractors.

The contractor must have the ability to install gravity feed and force main pipelines, and have experience with installation of gravity feed and force main pipelines.

The contractor must also have experience installing gravity feed and force main pipelines with respect to crossings of sensitive pipelines and utilities.

The contractor will be required to provide equipment, operators and laborers and skilled tradesmen competent and experienced in the installation of gravity feed storm sewer and force main storm sewer pipelines and also experienced in installation of these lines with respect to crossing existing sensitive pipelines and utilities.

Specifications of Work

The work will include supplying and operating all equipment, skilled laborers and laborers required to successfully complete the installation of 900mm/36inch PVC, 600mm/24inch PVC and 400mm/16inch PVC at crossings of sensitive pipelines and utilities.

The work includes all aspects required to successfully complete the installation of the 900mm/600mm/400mm pipeline runs and crossings including excavation and all relevant earthworks, bedding and installation of the pipe segments to the specifications of the supplied pipe, backfilling and compaction to the supplied pipe specifications.

The estimated construction timeline for this work item is August 1, 2016 to January 1, 2019; Contractor will honor the quoted unit rate for the duration of the construction timeline (no price change up to January 1, 2019).

Each piece of equipment shall be entered on the unit pricing sheet with make/model and all-inclusive hourly rate (including fuel, maintenance, operator, etc), Each equipment type should include a range of sizes (ie. small, medium, large classifications).

Each required skilled laborer and laborer shall be entered into the unit pricing sheet with trade/position and all-inclusive hourly rate (including transportation, food, lodging and all other relative disbarments).

All equipment costs to be inclusive of equipment, fuel, maintenance, operator, etc. and available for a 24-hour request. A minimum of one 8hr shift will be billed on any activation/initiation of work unless previously negotiated.
