× How Does BOMA Dallas Foundation Choose Charities to Support? Ø
BOMA Dallas Foundation adopts local charities for a two to three year term, providing construction, renovation, community volunteerism and event support. We’ve been able to keep many non-profits on our list for charitable drives because so many office buildings host drives. Drive organizers are maintaining strict confidentiality of participants when required. You will find a list of the charities and information about each one on page 5.
× Toiletry Drive Supply Contents Ø
Each property will be assigned a charity along with a list of suggested items from that charity. Once the drive has ended, a volunteer will be by the next week to pick up your donations. ALL TOILETRIES MUST BE FULL SIZE. The charities have specifically requested NO TRAVEL SIZE.
***Remember, you will be emailed after March 23rd with your assigned charity and list of items to be collected.
× Setting Up For Your Toiletry Drive Ø
1. Suggestions:
A. Take Toiletry Suggested Items List and post in your newsletter.
B. Post Toiletry Drive Flyer and List in Lobby, at Concierge and in Management Office.
C. Another suggestion possibly is to post the list on your property website.
D. You will be contacted directly, after all the properties have signed up, with your specific charity and their list of items. You can post information about your designated charity so your tenants will know exactly who their donations will be serving.
× Suggestions for Promoting the Drive – Getting Your Tenants Motivated Ø
(Sample copies attached.)
A. Sample Newsletter Article – pg. 4
B. Charity Names and Information- pg. 5
C. Tenant Contact Letter and Flyer- pg.6 and 7 The flyer can be inserted with the Tenant Contact letter, as well as be distributed at your Concierge/Security Desks
× Helping Tenants Observe Drive Deadline Ø
Remember all toiletry bags must be turned in NO LATER than April 30th. Volunteers will arrive to collect the toiletries beginning May 2nd through the 6th. If your volunteer has already arrived at your property and collected your toiletries and you receive more donations afterwards, please contact Sara – and she will let you know a location you can drop them off.
× Items being picked up and delivered to sorting center Ø
This is your final step:
BOMA volunteers will pick up your donations May 2nd – 6th.
If a volunteer has not arranged for your pick up by Monday, May 2nd, contact Sara Rivera at 214-630-1001 or . Be sure to coordinate the time for pick up and exact location of your donations with the volunteer who is responsible for picking up at your property. If possible, please have your donations waiting at your loading dock in boxes or bags for easy loading. The volunteer should contact you on their way or with a specific time you can expect them. Please have someone help them load the donations into their vehicle.
Note: BOMA volunteers picking up items will only be available to go to each property once, so please encourage stragglers to return their donations by the end of the drive.
