Proper Set-up

Follow the set up below to easily switch back and forth from the document camera to the computer:

VGA connections into the Document Camera / VGA connection into the Projector
USB connection into the document camera / VGA & USB connections into the computer

Make sure the computer and projector’s power cords and the document camera’s power adapter are properly connected and plugged in.

Essential Buttons

Mode Buttons
·  PLAYBACK (View captured pictures)
·  PC (View computer)
·  CAMERA (View live document camera)
EFFECT
·  Color (default)
·  Black & White

­  Use when using heavy text
MIRROR
·  Use to quickly adjust up-side-down image
NIGHT VIEW
·  Use when presenting in low light conditions
REVERSE
·  Rotates image 180 degrees
FREEZE
·  Freeze current image picked up with camera
·  Lower, right corner shows Freeze On or
Freeze Off (white letters)
·  Use when turning pages in a book
TIMER
·  Click once to show timer, click again to start
·  Once timer starts, you can toggle the countdown screen to display or hide
·  Timer must run full amount of time before resetting
·  The timer turns yellow and begins blinking when time is ten seconds from timed amount. When time has run out, the timer will turn red and begin counting past time.
Adjust Timer Minutes
·  Click Menu button & select Timer
·  Adjust time by using left/right arrow buttons. Select “menu” to set.
ZOOM
·  Will zoom up to 800%
·  Manually focus object using arm, then use zoom for a better picture
·  ZOOM RESET 1x (reset to original size)

Taking Pictures Using Document Camera

CAPTURE Button
·  Push Capture button to take a picture of item in view
·  Right hand corner will say Capture…then …Save
·  Left hand corner tells you how many pictures you’ve taken
·  Take up to 80 pictures
PLAYBACK Button
·  Push Playback button to view all pictures taken
·  Using arrow buttons, select the picture you want to view and push the Playback button again
Deleting One Picture
·  In picture display window (Playback), select the picture you want to delete
·  Choose DEL button (garbage)
·  Choose YES and select right arrow
·  Choose CAMERA button to go back to live document camera view
Delete All Taken Pictures
·  In Camera Mode, select Menu/Advanced/IMG Format and then Yes to delete all pictures
·  This is similar to reformatting a floppy disk
·  If you select Playback and see NO FILE, there are no pictures taken / Notes:

Using the AverMedia Software

Opening Software
·  First, plug USB cable into document camera and computer
·  Open Vision AP software (AverMedia)
NOTE: “Create Device Enumerator Failed!” error message – close program & make sure USB cable is plugged in properly.
·  When program opens, remote for document camera no longer works / Notes:
Take Picture from Software
·  Select SnapShot/Video tab
·  Select SnapShot button
·  Name image & save to computer / Notes:
Record a Movie from Software
·  Select SnapShot/Video tab
·  Select Video Record button
·  Name movie & save to computer (As soon as you Save, the movie immediately begins recording)
·  Click Stop Recording when finished
·  Select Yes in Stop Recording dialog box / Notes:
View Movie from Software
·  Select SnapShot/Video tab
·  Select Gallery button
·  Select movie and click open (As soon as you open movie, movie begins playing)
·  Click on Live View button to return to camera view / Notes:
Advanced Movie Options
·  Select SnapShot/Video tab
·  Select Setup button & Media Settings tab
·  Un-check “Display local time in AVI file” to not show time on movie
·  Check box “Display text in AVI file” to enter in text on top of movie:

Downloading Pics Taken from Document Camera “Capture” Button
·  Make sure USB cable is UN-PLUGGED from computer
·  In Camera mode, choose Menu/Advanced/USB Select/IMG Download
·  You will see the word “Download” in lower, right-hand corner (this tells you you’re ready to download)
·  Plug USB cable into computer
·  Wait for download dialog box to appear
·  Choose “Copy Pictures to a folder on my computer using Microsoft Scanner & Camera Wizard.”
·  Follow Wizard prompts to save pictures to computer
·  To go back to document camera use, um-plug USB cable from computer / Notes:

Tips & Tricks

Use color backgrounds, not white (causes glare)
White boards can cause glare – use screen or paper
When pointing item out, point to item under document camera, not projector
If high glare, tilt camera slightly
