AMERICAN INDIAN COMMITTEE
August 2014
Our Native American Indians have helped shape our nation through the hardships of survival, religious ceremonies, social and political contributions. As daughters we can help by giving back through the many programs of the American Indian Committee.
The goal of the administration is to support the two Indian Schools, Bacone and Chemawa, the American Indian youth Summer Camp program and scholarships, through generous donations of our chapters and members.
A fun way to help the chapters with donations for the various programs is to make a small container with a Native American Indian theme and put loose change in it at each meeting following the reading of an Indian Minute.
Native American Heritage Recognition Month was established by Congress in 1990 and is celebrated in November. Each chapter is encouraged to have a proclamation signed in their community recognizing the contributions of the Native Americans. A sample proclamation can be found under forms.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO OUR AMERICAN INDIANS
