Apple Festival 5K Road Race
& 1 Mile Fun Run
The 40th annual Apple Festival 5K road race will take place on October 8, 2016, in conjunction with Gilmer County=s Annual Apple Festival. The race will begin and end at the Ellijay Elementary School. Last year, we had approximately 150 runners in the 5K and Fun Run. These events are fun for all ages and abilities, but more importantly, the money raised by this race provides services for needy children in our community.
The proceeds from the race will be used to assist children in the Juvenile Drug Treatment Program in Gilmer, Fannin and Pickens Counties. Juvenile Drug Court is a long-term program that provides counseling and services to young people who are having issues with drugs and alcohol. The goal of the program is to help the youth in the program break their cycle of addiction and become productive citizens.
All businesses that donate at least $100 to sponsor the race will have their name and/or business logo imprinted on the race t-shirts.

We will be taking donations for door prizes or you can make a smaller monetary donation directly to the Apple Festival 5K Road Race or to Collaborations for Resiliency in Children, the non-profit agency that provides counseling services for the Juvenile Drug Court. All donations are tax deductible.
