Executive Committee Meeting

September 15, 2015, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

Section Business Operation

-  Approval of Past Meeting Minutes – Approved

-  Treasurer’s Report – Will check treasurer’s report. Last meeting checks written and deposited did not clear before the Annual Report was submitted. New “Annual Report” will be sent by Darvin to note these changes.

-  Final Scholarship Committee Report – Bahram not present, Letter will be sent to schools shortly, wording changed to include any nuclear-related science field. Application will be updated as well. Scholarship contact information? UMASS Lowell (Penny, John White, Dr. Pounders)/URI (Bahram)/WPI/MIT

Expansion potential: CB&I, Wentworth, WPI; Schneider Electric (Invensys) – Liz Canty will ask her contact at Schneider what the new organization may offer. Who could we contact for Schneider involvement/NAYGN contact?

-  Bylaws Review Committee – No Activity – Darvin Kapitz will serve as Bylaw committee chair. Paris will also serve on this committee. Neither member present at today’s meeting.

-  Outreach Committee Report – Howard Schaffer working with NH Nuclear Advisory Committee citizens, Nuclear Science week/Boy scout badge (below), Liz e-mail Justin Pounders regarding Nuclear Science Week Movie Night October 19-23rd (China Syndrome)

-  Webmaster’s Report (Paris) – Paris not present at meeting. The contact info tab on the web page needs to be updated.

-  Appoint Audit Committee – Mike O’Connell and Jim Pappas have volunteered to audit Darvin’s records as Treasurer

-  Install New Officers and Directors – Liz will send an e-mail introducing the new officers, Complete

-  Records Turnover for New Officers – Chair, Complete

-  Boy Scout Merit Badge - Nadia not present to report

-  Nuclear Science Week – See Outreach Committee above, Liz Canty working on small event with UMASS Lowell.

-  Topical Meetings – No activity

-  Activity Calendar Items (due by the September)

-  Appoint Audit Committee to review Treasurer’s Books – Members of this committee must be independent of the executive committee. Ask at meeting? ACTION: Bob

-  Hold first program meeting- Done

-  Collect 2015-2016 Membership dues- Done

-  Prepare and Deliver Annual Financial Statement/Annual Section Report- Done

-  Begin membership drive - Done

-  Add Student Section & Faculty Adivsor Officers to ANS NE Mailing List – Steve will send these names to Liz to add to Membership List

-  File Certificate of Change of Directors with Secretary of State – Liz will address

-  Update bank account signature card to add new chair, vice chair and treasurer – Darvin and Jim Pappas will address.
