Bajaur Agency:

On 03 Jan 2013, a three day anti polio drive peacefully ended in Bajaur tribal region but the campaign target couldn’t be achieved, as per an official of the local health department.

On 05 Jan 2013, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf directed the Ministry of Water and Power to start the construction of a grid station in Bajaur Agency this month to ensure smooth supply of electricity in the agency.

Mohmand Agency:

On 04 Jan 2013, a jirga of Haleemzai tribe in Mohmand Agency decided to strengthen the local peace committees to protect government properties in the area.

Khyber Agency:

On 31 Dec 2012, two bullet-riddled bodies were found in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency.

On 31 Dec 2012, three women killed and six children sustained injuries when mortar shells struck three houses in Sepah area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency.

On 31 Dec 2012, extremist elements blew up two government schools with explosive material in tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency.

On 01 Jan 2013, security forces in Bar Qambar Khel area of Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency have started collecting personal details of people living in the area.

Orakzai Agency:

On 03 Jan 2013, unidentified gunmen kidnapped two persons from Baizot area in lower Orakzai Agency.

On 03 Jan 2013, one person killed and three others sustained injuries in two remote-controlled blasts in Orakzai Agency.

Kurram Agency:

On 02 Jan 2013, authorities closed Pak-Afghan border in Kurram Agency for three days to ensure peaceful observance of the chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) in the tribal area, the political agent said.

On 02 Jan 2013, elders of the Para Chamkani tribe handed over a militants’ commander to the political administration as six-day ultimatum had been given to the tribe to produce him or face military action.

North Waziristan Agency:

On 02 Jan 2013, a civilian worker of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) was killed and four security men were seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a remote-controlled bomb near Matches Camp in Miramshah.

On 03 Jan 2013, at least two militants were killed and six others injured in an overnight operation by the security forces in North Waziristan Agency.

On 04 Jan 2013, a US Drone fired four missiles on a vehicle of suspected militants in Mubarik Shahi area of tehsil Miranshah NWA thereby killing at least three militants.

On 05 Jan 2013, seven more bullet-riddled bodies were recovered on Miranshah-Razmak road in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).

On 05 Jan 2013, twenty-five mortar shells fired from Afghanistan landed in the border area of Ghulam Khan in North Waziristan Agency, but there was no report of any loss of life.

South Waziristan Agency:

On 02 Jan 2013, the authorities in South Waziristan Agency linked the issuance of the computerized national identity cards, passports and domicile certificates to the immunisation of children against polio.

On 03 Jan 2013, a US drone strike killed a Taliban commander Mullah Mohammad Nazir along with his six other fellows in Sra Kanda, some 45 kilometers in the west of tehsil Wana of South Waziristan Agency.

Peshawar:
