After-School Clubs—SESSION TWO
Tuesday – Friday 3:15 – 4:15 PM
Registration begins online Sunday, January 29th at 9pm.
Registration ends on Saturday, February 4th at 9pm.
Enrollment for each club is on a “first come, first served” basis.
Many clubs fill up quickly so don’t delay!

What is a Maugham After-School Club?
After-school clubs at Maugham are HSA sponsored, after school enrichment classes. Clubs offer a fun way for students to enjoy learning or doing something new while spending time with friends after regular school hours.
KEY POINTS:
· Access to the registration site will begin at 9pm on Sunday, January 29th, 2017, and will end at 9pm on Saturday February 4th, 2017.
· Payments must be made through PayPal or Cash.
· To pay through PayPal press "Check out withPayPal." Once you have done this you cannot go back to revise your registration. Complete thePayPal payment process. You will be emailed a receipt.
· If you are paying Cash, choose “Cash” on “I am paying by” box. In Order Summary Page, still press "Check out withPayPal",this will capture and submit your registration information. Then close payment window. You have now completed your online registration. To pay you must bring the cash to school at 3:10pm pick-up on Wednesday, February 1st, 2017. There will be a table by the flagpole where you drop off your cash. This is the only time cash will be accepted.Exact payment is required.No personal checks will be accepted.
· Please indicate your children’s allergy information in “Additional Information” box, if you would like club instructors to be aware of.
· Please ensure your emergency contact can be reached when the regular pickup person is not available.
· To register another child, you will need to go back to maughamhsa.com , click on club registration link to repeat the above process.
· If you are closed out of your desired club you can choose to be added to the waitlist.
· Clubs meet only when there is a FULL day of school.
· If a club has to be cancelled at the last minute, for any reason, WE MUST BE ABLE TO CONTACT SOMEONE WHO CAN PICK UP YOUR CHILD FROM SCHOOL AT THE REGULAR 3:10 PM TIME. You will be notified via e-mail by 2pm.
· There will be no make-ups for clubs cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
· If a child will not attend clubs while he/she goes to school, or a child will be picked up from someone other than who is listed on the form, an email must be sent to Linda Sabatino, and Elieen Osborne .
· Clubs end promptly at 4:15pm. Please pick up your child on time. There will be no one available at school after 4:30pm. If you pick up your child later than 4:25pm ONCE, your child’s club attendance will be suspended until you show registration with SACC. There will be no refund. Please contact SACC at (201)8164526 for registration information. You will need to register two days in advance (with registration fee $30) before your child can be sent to SACC when needed.
· There is no school nurse on premises during club hours. There is no one to administer medication during clubs. If your child requires medication, you must be available to provide such medication or make provisions to administer the medication.
PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION
1. Fill out the online registration form.
2. Please indicate your “Second choice” if it is possible. If your first choice club is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be switched to second choice.
3. If you are paying cash, select “Cash” in “I am paying by” box.
4. Press “Continue” to see Order summary page, if you want to make changes, press “back”.
5. To pay through PayPal press "Check out withPayPal." Once you have done this you cannot go back to revise your registration. Complete thePayPal payment process. You will be emailed a receipt.
6. If you are paying by Cash, still press "Check out withPayPal"this will capture and submit your registration information, then close the payment window. You have now completed your online registration. To pay you must bring the cash to school at 3:10pm pick-up on Wednesday, February 1st. How do I know if my child is enrolled in a Maugham After-School Club?
By February 12th, you will receive an email with the class list of the club. If you do not hear from us by then, please contact one of the club chairs.
Please note: there are a limited number of children who can be admitted to each club. ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE WHEN ENROLLMENT MEETS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER A CLUB CAN HANDLE. THERE WILL BE AN OPTION FOR YOU TO ADD YOUR NAME TO A WAITLIST. IF AN ENROLLED STUDENT DROPS BEFORE THE CLUB BEGINS, WE WILL TAKE STUDENTS FROM THE WAITLIST TO FILL THE CLASS. There is a minimum number of children needed to cover the cost of each club. If a club must be cancelled due to low enrollment, we will try to put you in your second choice if one is listed and available.
What is the Maugham After-School Club Refund Policy?
The HSA does not refund club fees. If your child is absent from a regular or rescheduled club meeting, drops out of the club after the club fee is paid, is removed from a club, or if there is an unscheduled snow-day or emergency closing, no refund will be given. If, in the judgment of the Club Supervisor, a student is not working well in a club, their club membership will be withdrawn. You will not receive a refund. In addition, that student will not be allowed to register for the same club in the following session.
What is the Maugham After-School Club Dismissal Policy?
Please indicate on the online registration form how you would like your child dismissed from the club: to be met at the door by a parent or guardian or to be released to leave the building alone.This is very important. Please pay attention when indicating dismissal instructions. On the registration form, also indicate who other than the parent has permission to take the child home. If a child will be picked up from someone other than who is listed on the form, an email must be sent to club supervisors Linda Sabatino, AND Elieen Osborne .

FOR SAFETY REASONS, CHILDREN WILL EXIT FROM THE MAGNOLIA STREET DOORS ONLY. If your child attends SACC, your child will go to SACC at the end of each club meeting. Both SACC and the club supervisor have a list of the children attending clubs.

1. Acting Club (Grades K-3)
Have fun learning to act! You’ll learn acting for the stage and camera with fun theater games, scenes and improvisation. This class also improves speech, confidence, and team work. Learn about scripts, commercials and creating characters.
Teacher Bio: Taught by Gloria Boucher, a professional actress and AMDA graduate who has appeared on TV, in movies, and the New York stage. She has been teaching for over 25 years with many students on Broadway & TV.

2. Eating books (Grades K-3)
Students come and have fun preparing easy to make dishes and desserts using yummy ingredients after reading a great story. Eating Books combines story time and cooking activities that enrich the read-aloud experience. Each recipe is deigned to delight readers and cooks. In this club you will learn and whip each recipe step by step and after you finished assembling your tasty treat you can take it home, enjoy your creation or give it to someone special; you are sure to give him or her a sweet surprise. *Please indicate whether student has any food allergies on sign-up form for this class.

3. Drawing and Painting (Grades K-5)
Learn to create a strong foundation of basic drawing and painting techniques while developing critical thinking skills and original works of art. Students are introduced to a variety of new ideas and exposed to several art-historical and contemporary Painting/Drawing practices.

4. Board Game Club (Grades K-5)
Board Game club is a fun way to exercise your brain while having fun! Students will have to work together, use social skills and communication skills to play various types of games. Studies show, board games help critical thinking and boost spatial reasoning, as well as, attention skills and the ability to focus over longer periods. Practice essential cognitive skills like problem solving, complex thought and memory formation by playing games like Blokus, memory, connect 4, Zingo, Guess Who, Balance Beans, Monopoly, Sorry and more!

5. Robotics Design: with Lego machine set (Grades k-2)
Kids know robots as toys, as movie characters, as machines that work in factories; now, they will know robots as their learning companion. Educational Robotics is the hottest globally trending program. It is proven to instill creative thinking and creative problem-solving skills that transfer onto other disciplines by facilitating kids to do what they enjoy the most—play!

1. Tenafly Nature Center: Nature Explorer (Grades K-2)
Experience wonders of nature and science with the Tenafly Nature Center. Students learn about the different cycles, adaptations, and processes that occur throughout our natural world as they are introduced to topics, such as food webs, animal tracks, and metamorphosis. Sessions will feature stories, hands-on activities, games, artifacts and LIVE animal encounters.
