Resources:
-  Rhyming bingo sheets
-  List of words that rhyme with the bingo images
-  Counters / Intro (5 Minutes):
Ask class to make up words that rhyme with a word you give them.
Main: (40- 50 minutes):
-  Each student receives a bingo card and a container of counters.
-  Explain to students that they need to listen for a word, and then find a picture on their bingo card that rhymes with the word the teacher gave. Student then place a counter over that picture.
-  Teacher continues to call words and students continue their search for pictures of words that rhyme
-  Continue until someone has 5 in a row a calls “BINGO”
-  As a group, check the winner’s pictures against the list of words. Did the pictures covered match the words the teacher called?
Conclusion: (5 minutes):
As students move to next activity- ask them to provide you with a word that rhymes with your choice of word. “Tell me a word that rhymes with ‘mat’” / Verbal Feedback:
The students really like this activity. Great Idea to use pictures to help them visualise the rhyming words they’re talking about.
