PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE FILLING OUT YOUR

COURSE REQUEST SHEET.

PROCESS FOR SELECTING CLASSES

In making your selections, list them in priority order making sure the course number is placed first on the line and then the course name, (e.g.,0323 Lab Biology (P)). Also, keep in mind these are course requests. All effort will be made to enroll students in their chosen classes; however, students may be enrolled in non-requested courses if necessary.

COURSES FOLLOWED BY (P), (HP), (ACC) OR (AP) MEET THE A-G REQUIREMENTS

The University of California system and the California State University and College system have approved these courses. All Honors, Accelerated, or Advanced Placement Courses will need the instructor’s approval. All students selected for enrollment into Honors, Accelerated or Advanced Placement classes will have their schedules changed by the office to indicate this placement.

P PHYSICAL EDUCATION CREDITS

Board Policy 6146.1(b)

A student may waive up to two semesters of the physical education requirements by successful participation in interscholastic sports at the junior varsity or varsity level. Successful participation in two seasons of interscholastic sport shall result in waiving one semester of the physical education graduation requirement. Successful participation in a third season of interscholastic sport shall result in waiving a second semester of physical education graduation requirement. When a semester of physical education graduation requirement is waived, five (5) credits of physical education elective shall be recorded on the student’s transcript. Participation in sports during the freshman year cannot be used as part of the waiver process.

Graduation and Minimum College Eligibility Requirements

A total of 230 credits and successful completion of a Senior Project are required for graduation. A student may earn five (5) credits per eighteen (18) week semester for each successfully completed course. Grades of C or better are required to meet CSU and UC A-G requirements.
