I. GOALS

  1. To provide proper care for children in grades K-8 before and after school
  2. To provide worthwhile activities and socialization time for children in grades K-8
  3. To provide time for studying and self care instruction to children in grades K-8

IIELIGIBLE CHILDREN

  1. All Tecumseh Local students (K-8)
  2. All children of Tecumseh Local staff members
  3. Appropriate behavior will be maintained to participate in Latchkey
  4. Grades 6-8 students will have a strict behavior policy – one behavior incident will eliminate you from the latchkey program

IIICOSTS

  1. A $10.00 registration fee for each child is required ($10.00 for the first child in the family plus $1.00 for each additional child in the family)
  2. Rates per hour in attendance – 0 to 30 minutes $1.75 per child, 31 to 60 minutes $3.50 per child, $3.50 per hr. per child, 1 ½ hr rate – 3.50 + 1.75 = $5.25, 2hr rate - $7.00, 2 ½ hr rate $7.00+1.75 = $8.75. Anytime a student is at latchkey there will be a charge.
  1. A 10% discount will be given to families with additional children attending latchkey in the same school. The discount applies to the total Family bill
  2. Parent, guardian or others listed on latchkey enrollment form must sign children out (ID must be shown)
  3. If child is picked up after latchkey closing time, the following late fees will be charged per student:

1-15 minutes - $10.0016-30 minutes - $20.0031-45 minutes - $30.0046-60 minutes - $40.00

VPAYMENT

  1. Parents will be given a bill on Friday or Monday for the previous week’s service. Payment is due in full the following week.
  2. Bills that are two weeks late may warrant removal from program unless parent has made appropriate plans to pay latchkey with one of the latchkey supervisors. If this is not done it will be turned over to the principal and then the Treasurer.
  3. Appropriate records, receipts, and expenditures will be maintained in accordance with Uniform School Accounting System.

VISTAFFING

  1. Students will be supervised by a latchkey aide hired by the Board of Education
  2. Administration of the program will be handled by the building principal.
  3. The latchkey aides will be in charge of day-to-day operations.

VIIREGISTRATION FORMS

  1. A Clark County Schools Registration Form and Clark County Emergency Medical Form must be on file in applicable building for each child in latchkey
  2. One Latchkey Enrollment Form is required for each family whose children attend latchkey
  3. Parents may register students at the school building office

VIIIMATERIALS/SUPPLIES/SNACKS

  1. All materials, supplies and snacks will be purchased with registration and hourly fees.

IXCALENDAR

  1. Latchkey is conducted ONLY on days school is in session
  2. When the start of school is delayed – latchkey will open at 8:30 a.m.
  3. When school is dismissed early for an emergency, P.M. Latchkey will be cancelled
