Oklahoma CareerTech will launch a new system this month designed specifically for Oklahomans to help guide students through their career development adventure. You will see a demo of this engaging platform, including how students can create portfolios, complete research-based assessments and explore the robust database of postsecondary schools and occupations. OK Career Guide will support sixth-grade through adult learners and is available at no cost to schools. Join us to learn how using this tool can help guide your students’ career paths.

This session will prepare attendees for IEP and 504 meetings and discuss best practices when working with individuals with disabilities.

FACS New Teachers will learn information necessary to manage their FCCLA chapter such as affiliation, competitive event registration, fundraising ideas, and explanation of required reports. Time for questions will also be a part of this session.

Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences – Claudia Otto(2,3)
What are learning styles? Learning styles are simply different approaches or ways of learning. Learning styles refer to a range of theories and approaches to the differences in individuals' learning. These theories propose that all people can be classified according to their 'style' of learning. The idea of individualized learning styles became popular in the 1970s, and has greatly influenced education despite the criticism that the idea has received from some researchers. There is ample evidence that individuals express preferences for how they prefer to receive information.

Best practices will be shared regarding classroom management, building a student community, student personality traits, learning styles and teaching to those styles. Tips, tricks, and shortcuts will also be shared to assist with follow-up completion.
