All students should be bringing home practice cards! The second practice card is due on September 10. They will be getting practice cards every week and are expected to practice 100 minutes each week for a grade of 100 points. These cards MUST be signed by parents. Students also receive daily participation points. Sometimes I will do “exit slips”, which you might see on the online grade book. An “exit slip” is a slip that the students fill out on how many participation points they think they earned that day and why. I take the exact grade the student gives me on that day. One last thing, if your child needs supplies such as reeds, books, or valve oil, I can get those items for them through Meyer Music.

My plan is 11:32 to 1:26 everyday and you can reach me by email: or phone, 660-584-6099 Amy Wardell

7th Grade Art

This class is working on their geometric still life illustration. Their layouts are complete and they will be rendering values in the objects, their cast shadows, and the backgrounds to appear life like and give a 3-D illusion to their compositions. They will be using their 6B drawing pencils, magic rub erasers, and kneadable erasers for this project.

7th Grade Computer Literacy

The class is making progress on their keyboarding skills. All of the students are making and documenting their keyboarding improvements. They have been using Microsoft Word to create documents, Excel to record their keyboarding improvements, and Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing to improve keyboarding. They will begin a new unit with research on the internet gathering information that will be used in a Power Point Presentation.

7th Grade Graphics

This class will continue to improve their keyboarding skills by creating new documents and speed tests in MS Word documents. Their subject matter for the month is on RESPECT. These students will also be creating signs for teacher’s classrooms which will include importing photographs.
