7th Annual Harvest Arts Festival Seeks Artists & Musicians

Saturday, October 24, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Join the best fall festival in town! Now in its seventh year, the Newark Arts Alliance’s Harvest Arts Festival is a celebration of the arts, with local artists displaying their fine art and crafts for sale, live music, and children’s art activities in the center of downtown Newark. The Festival is held during the University of Delaware’s “Parents & Family Weekend,” which is one of the busiest weekends of the fall. The event will be held outdoors on the Academy Building Lawn at the corner of Academy Street and Main Streeton Saturday, October 24, from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (raindate: October 25).

Exhibitor information:

  • Event is held outdoors, at the Academy building lawn in downtown Newark.
  • Exhibitor space: 10’ x 10’
  • Artists making original fine art, prints, crafts. No buy/sell items, only handmade work by the artist.
  • Also eligible: Arts Groups offering literature, promo items, activities, demonstrations.
  • Space fee: $40, no commissions on work sold.
  • Exhibitors need to be ready to sell by 12:00 p.m. and stay until 5:00 p.m. Loading into space is between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • Parking will be available behind the Academy Building next door. All displays, tents, and tables are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Space must be clean and trash removed by 6:00 p.m.
  • Exhibitors wishing to participate should submit an application, a check for the booth fee, and 3-5 images ofwhat they wish to sell, preferably jpgs by e-mail (though a CD of images or photographs can be accepted as well). Musicians:

Musicians who have been accepted will be assigned a 30-minute time slot on the Academy building steps between noon and 4:00 p.m. A $45 fee will be paid to each musical act for their performance. Musicians wishing to be hired should submit a CD with a sample of their music and an application.

Spaces and music time slots will be assigned as received after jurying, so get your application in early!

FOR MUSICIANS: Please label CD's with your name and group name if applicable. Please describe your style of music, how many musicians are in your group or if you're solo, what instruments are played in the space above. Some electric is available. We're looking for small acts that don't require a lot of set up or break down and can perform outside in a festival setting. Musicians will be located on the Academy building lawn, under a tent.
