Dear Ms. Spring:

I’m writing to express my interest in BCG Summer Internship Associate. Through my numerous interactions with BGC team members for the past few months, I’ve become convinced that BCG offers intelligence sharing and a variety of challenging assignments I seek. I hope to convince you that I will contribute to the success of BCG in Technology practice by leveraging my consulting experience, information technology background, and problem-solving skill. The following underscores my fit with the core requirements of a BCG Summer Internship Associate.

Significant Professional Achievement: My resume shows consistent advancement with rapidly increasing responsibility. My most significant achievement, as a Project Manager, included leading the migration of Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Citigroup, ING, and UBS to a new Reuters financial software system. This resulted in a $15 million revenue gain and included every customer branch in Asia (China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan).

Customer-Facing Experiences: Because I led the team to offer consulting services in building internal infrastructure and maintaining the Reuters software system, we frequently visited our customers’ sites in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China. We trained the customers to manage the system and help them solve their problems onsite. I also launched a customer-facing project and a customer relationship management workshop. It was designed to improve my team’s competency to be able to communicate with the customers, solve their product issues, and handle the unexpected situations.

Project Management Skills: I managed risks, project costs, and resource requirements to ensure the success of the migration project. I defined objectives, action plan, and method of working to the agreed terms of reference and to ensure that deliverables were met with the customers’ criteria. I led my team to deliver implementation strategies to the customers’ senior executives.

Leadership and Team-Building Abilities: At Kenan-Flagler I've established myself as a leader by taking the positions as MBA Ambassador and a Social Project Manager of International Business Association (responsible for MBA social events).I’ve learned that being futuristic and having respect for differences are the pillars of my success.

Strong Analytical Skills: Throughout my career, I've successfully defined ambiguous problems, designed realistic solutions, and analyzed quantitative analysis. The rigorous curriculum here at Kenan-Flagler combined with the problem-solving skill that I’ve gained from engineering school will further develop my analytical skills.

My background working as a consultant in the software company provided me with an insightful perspective on problems that high-tech companies encounter in their day to day operations. I ask for the opportunity to translate that experience into business solutions for your customers. This would be an incredible experience, and I am very much excited about this opportunity. I thank you for your consideration to the firm’s closed interview list and I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,

Chananya Jaisin
