What is the purpose?

This proposal provides an opportunity for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and the United Nations, Department of Public Information, (UN DPI) NGO Relations Section to collaborate on the design, promotion, implementation and facilitation of a DPI/NGO briefing aimed atadvancing the agenda of the United Nations. Proposed briefing topics should:

  • Support and respect the principles of the Charter of the United Nations
  • Promote knowledge of UN principles and activities in accordance with the NGO’s own aims and purposes
  • Engage and educate communities worldwide, and encourage support for the ideals and activities of the United Nations
  • Foster a dialogue and incorporate a call to action with global constituencies such as other United Nations Specialize Agencies and Programmes, academia, civil society, the private sector, and/or youth

What are the criteria?

  • The proposed briefing must align with the values and mission of the UN, and should contribute to the United Nations agenda accordingly
  • To apply all NGOs must have successfully submitted their 2015 Annual Review to Department of Public Information
  • Applying NGOs must be willing to provide and /or collaborate on the necessary elements and materials required for the organization of briefings
  • Proposals must be submitted by the deadline. Proposals submitted after the deadline will not be accepted

Important: Due to the limited availability of briefing slots, we strongly encourage collaboration with other NGOs aligned to the work of the United Nations. Please note that submission of this form does not signify or guarantee an approved application.
