About BCRA, Better Care Reconciliation Act

22 million of Americans would lose their healthcare coverage, including 15 million from Medicaid alone, to give $700 billion in tax breaks to corporations and the ultra-rich.

Out-of-pocket costs would increase for all Americans, and coverage would be skimpier than under the ACA. For someone at the poverty level, the deductible would be half of their annual income.

TrumpCare would allow states to opt-out of critical consumer protections that ensure insurance covers vital services, meaning insurance companies can once again discriminate against Americans, like charging more for those with pre-existing conditions who need those services - From Indivisible Guide.

6.27.17 - #resistTrumpTuesday

When we went on our weekly visit to the senators’ offices on Tuesday the 27th, they told us that Senator Murray is aiming to block the bill using the Byrd rule, because it is a reconciliation bill. They are also going to withhold consent for preceding bills to slow the Senate down, and use amendments to slow things down.

Keep calling.The senators tally calls use that to emphasize speeches. They are on recess till July 10.

7.5.17- Senator Cantwell’s health care town hall

The town hall on video:

There are efficient ways to cut costs:
the Basic Health Care plan enables people to pool together to get better rates outside ACA exchanges;

the Basic Incentive Program enables the elderly to stay in their homes - and cuts costs;

Also, pressure counties to get health care:

"You won't want to do business in places where you can't get health care."

More:

Medicaid for the elderly: “Medicaid pays for most of the 1.4 million people in nursing homes…It covers 20 percent of all Americans and 40 percent of poor adults.”

Medicaid for the handicapped: “Texas has no accurate way of tracking children deprived of services, calling them “the hidden victims” in the Medicaid cuts.” “The Texas cuts are separate from…proposals now before Congress…But the fallout could eventually be similar”

Medicaid for vets: “@tedcruzis getting straight up heckled.

The new health care bill is the question at hand. Someone mentioned 1 in 10 vets are on Medicaid.”

Initiative by Sen. Murray, Senate Health Committee

Senator Murray has submitted a report that outlines GOP efforts to intentionally sabotage the health care system, then justify passage of Trumpcare bill that will spike costs for Washington State families and throw millions off their coverage:

Murray: “This health care fight is anything but over”:
