  1. Apparel Fundraising- we still haveplenty of Pink Jennings Cares T-shirts ($10/each), Black Jennings Warriors Hoodies ($20/each), Black Jennings Proud T-shirts these serve as a basketball season pass for girls and boys home games all season! ($20/each), and Knit Caps ($15/each) remaining to sell.

C. Veteran’s Day Breakfast- Phenomenal job by all that helped plan and take part in this event! Mr. Spivey received multiple complements from the veterans and other guests. We also got a $500 donation from Neighbors Credit Union to pay for the t-shirts we gave as gifts.

D. Gateway Convention- great day of campaigning and learning from other local student leaders. We won re-election as Gateway First Vice President and Mr. Spivey won Gateway Advisor of the Year. Please thank Ms. Wanack for attending! Thank all of you for everything that you did to make this happen!

E. Blood Drive- Wednesday, November 30th in the E-wing gym.

  • Anyone 16 years or older can donate (16 year olds need a signed permission slip).
  • Sign-ups for appointments will take place at lunch starting today.
  • Goal for our drive is to collect 42 units for the American Red Cross.
  • If we achieve our goal, we will earn scholarship money for a senior level STUCO member.
  • Organizing leadership students are Brittanee, Tyerra, Aramani, Jasmine, Justice, Kierra, Charles P., Chanel, and Hana.

F. Holiday Canned Food Drive- will be replaced by Penny Wars (explained in new business)

G. Mike Smith Presentation at Ritenour- Friday, December 2nd. Leave JSH at 9:30 and return by 2:50.

  • 12th Grade STUCO members are ineligible to attend.
  • We will be taking 36 members to see this nationally renowned speaker and lunch is provided.

II. New Business

  1. Winter Energizer- January 14-16, 2017 at Windermere Lodge (Lake of the Ozarks)
  • Only previous Fulton attendees can attend.
  • Cost $160 per person due by 12/16 (must provide your own transportation)
  • Registration opens Saturday at 6 A.M. (last year it filled up in only 18 minutes)
  • JC Applications- juniors and seniors that have attended camp must send Terri an actual letter through

the actual mail before January 1, 2017. Mr. Spivey has her address if you are interested.

  1. Distinguished Student Leaders- applications due January 31, 2017 (Seniors only)
  • Must have previously attended Fulton, check with Mr. Spivey for your application.
  • State Honor Council- applications due February 8, 2017. We’ve done it 2 years straight, why not 3?
  • Summer Camp Scholarships- most MASC scholarships are due 3/1. Gateway has 4 due in April.
  • State Convention- March 9-11, 2017 at Mehlville High School. Registration due February 5th. We

can only bring 6 students (usually next year’s officers that are elected in January). Cost is $125/student

  1. Summer Leadership Workshop- June 11-16 at William Woods University. Registration due by 5/13.

Cost is $350/student.

  1. Region 6 Vision Conference- National Conference in Missouri. June 23-25 at Liberty North High

School outside Kansas City. Cost is $250/student. Registration opens early 2017.

  1. Penny Wars- class competition to raise money for needy JSH student families during the holidays.
  • Will begin Monday, November 28th and conclude on Thursday, December 15th.
  • Collection of money will be done during each lunch period during this time period.
  • Classes can help their point total by putting pennies in their class container, Classes can hurt other class point totals by adding silver coins and dollars to other class containers.
  • STUCO will give each member of the winning class a FREE DONUT on Friday, December 16th.
  • Organizing leadership students are Trevor, Shivaunyae, Alexis, Betty, Jaron, Charles M., Angel, Deja, Zhenelle.
  • #ICANHELP - We are creating a commercial to be shown to students to promote this hashtag which can help elp dele delete negative posts from social media sites by alerting those site administrators. Suggestions are-
  • POST POSITIVELY- Lead by example. Only post messages and statuses that will make a positive impact on your followers and friends. Become the “Positive Warrior” on your own Feed.
  • RESPECTFULLY COMMENT, THEN REPORT ANYTHING INAPPROPRIATE- Inappropriate content that is harmful to yourself or others should be reported. Remember to fight the negative with the positive.
  • BLOCK INAPPROPRIATE PEOPLE- Report and block users that post harmful content that affects yourself or others. Especially if the person is constantly posting negative content.
  • INFORM STUDENTS & ADULTS- Make sure other people know if you see negativity online and inform students, staff members, and families about #ICANHELP. Teach them how they can promote positivity on and offline.
  • TAKE ACTION- You can start a #ICANHELP club, create a compliments account on social media, or do a project on your campus to make other students feel connected and appreciated. It’s easy to spread kindness.
  • Organizing leadership students are Keyshay, Destiny, and Anna.
  • Special Olympics of Missouri- School of Character Award. (Mr. Spivey)
  • We are eligible to be recognized for our participation and fundraising for SOMO.
  • We can be honored and be eligible for prizes up to MASC summer camp scholarships.

L. Yearbook Picture Day- Thursday, December 8th during school.

1. Wear your STUCO t-shirt on this day so you can be in the 2016-17 yearbook.

M. Concession Stand/Pink Out Game- Tuesday, December 13th Boys Basketball v. McCluer Comets

1. Five helpers needed to work. Money raised will help volunteers attend next year’s state convention or summer leadership workshop at Fulton.

III. Next Meeting- Wednesday, December 7that 7:00 A.M. in the Library. Secret Santa?
