Finch Pruyn Paper named Official Paper of Philadelphia region’s CreateAThon 2004

Moorestown, N.J. – Hypno Design, Inc., Philadelphia region CreateAThon 2004 headquarters, has received a generous commitment of donation of premium quality printing paper, from internationally renown Finch Pruyn & Company, Inc., of Glens Falls, New York to cover the paper needs for all the printed materials being created as part of CreateAThon 2004 - Philadelphia’s regional 24 hour creative services marathon.

Established in 1865 along the banks of the Hudson River, Finch Pruyn & Co. Inc. is well known in the printing and advertising industries for it’s fine uncoated papers for advertising, publication and business office use. The paper company has an exceptional record of stewardship of the 166,000 acres of forestland they privately own in New York’s famed Adirondack region and also are widely recognized for their generous philanthropic contributions to a variety of organizations including hospitals, art museums and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

“Finch makes such an excellent choice for the Official Paper of CreateAThon,” says Richard Cardona, Creative Director at Hypno. “Their commitment to environmental and socially responsible issues reflects the overall theme of CreateAThon, and the work we are doing for all of the non-profits. Their paper is really the cream of the crop and these organizations will be so pleased with the professional feel and look of the materials that get printed on Finch Pruyn’s paper. They’re not just ‘giving us some leftovers’ of stock that hasn’t sold. Sherry Kennell, (Finch Pruyn Paper’s Mid-Atlantic Specification Manager) made a very generous offer to CreateAThon and has us going with their top new line. All the designers working on the projects are extremely excited to know we’ll have such a good sheet with which to work.”

CreateAThon is a 24-hour blitz during which Hypno, a Moorestown, NJ design and marketing agency, Idea Lab, a Moorestown advertising agency, and other design and advertising companies and individuals across the country provide marketing and creative services to local area non-profit organizations on a pro-bono basis. This marks the seventh year that the event is taking place nationally, and Hypno's second year as the Philadelphia regional host. The work will be designed at Hypno and then sent on to CRW Graphics a top-notch printer, of Pennsauken, NJ for printing and binding to create the final brochures, and marketing materials that these non-profits need to help fulfill their missions. Within a total of 72 hours the work will go from scribbled ideas, to polished concepts and designs, to finished, high-quality, professionally printed collateral pieces that the organizations can begin to use immediately to serve their goals. And it will all be printed on Finch Pruyn paper.

Melissa Kain, of CRW states, “Finch Pruyn was at the top of our list and we’ve been able to create very beautiful printing on their uncoated papers in the past. I can’t wait to see the look on the faces of the non-profits, as this work comes rolling off of the presses. Best of all, it’s all free. Most non-profits could never afford to print on a stock of this caliber.”

The round-the-clock creative and design work begins at 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 30. Work will be presented to the non-profits beginning Friday at 8 a.m. Hypno will receive client changes on the spot and make immediate changes on Friday, October 1. On Saturday October 2, the pieces will come rolling off of the presses, and a celebration at CRW Graphics will cap off the event. Saturday night, board members and staff from the selected non-profits will be invited to attend a “Hot Off the Press” reception hosted by CRW Graphics. Representatives will watch as their materials roll off the press and will leave with sample press sheets of their marketing and communications materials (and big smiles on their faces).
