PERSONAL PROFILE

With 43 years of translation experience, I have developed expertise in a wide variety of fields. I thrive on the variety that freelance work provides and I am always prepared for new challenges. My freelance experience has taught me to be flexible and I am able to work odd hours or to tight deadlines, as well as providing adaptability: adhering assiduously to client-specific requirements regarding vocabulary or document formatting. I enjoy learning about subjects outside my main areas of expertise and I carry out meticulous research into terminology. While I am able to work conscientiously on my own, I also fit in well as part of a team, especially when collaborating with experts in a particular field, combining my translation skills with their knowledge of their subject. I am keen to continue my professional development, especially taking the opportunity to learn more languages while increasing my knowledge of my main working languages.
