Gauge: 11 sts, 6.5 rows = 4” in dc with I (5.50mm) Hook
Materials:
I & J Crochet Hooks
Worsted Weight (4-medium weight) Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Abbreviation Guide:
St = Stitch
Sl st = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
SC = Single Crochet
Ch = Chain
TR = Treble Crochet
How to read this pattern:
-This pattern is worked in rounds, each round is joined with a slip stitch.
-If you see something *between asterisks* that means you repeat what is inside.
Instructions:
HAT – I Hook
With Blue:
Ch 4, sl st in 1stch to make a ring
RD 1: Ch 2, dc 13 into ring
RD 2: Ch 2, 2dc in each st around
RD 3: Ch 2, dc in same st, *1dc in next st, 2dc in next st* repeat around
RD 4: Ch 2, dc in same st, *1dc in next 4 sts, 2dc in next st* repeat around
RD 5-8: Ch 2, dc in same st, 1dc in each st around
With White:
RD 9: Ch 1, 1 SC in each st around
With Green:
RD 10: Ch 2, dc in same st, 1dc in each st around
With White:
RD 11: Ch 1, 1 SC in each st around
With Blue:
RD 12-14: Ch 2, dc in same st, 1dc in each st around
Tie off & Weave in ends.
FOOTBALL APPLIQUE – J Hook
With Brown:
RD 1: Ch 10, working in the back loops, *sc in next st, hdc, dc, dc, tr, dc, dc, hdc, sc* when you get to the end ch 1, and repeat between * to the end.
RD 2: sc all the way around the football. When you get to each end, ch 1 at the tip to make it a little more pointy. Leave a long tail for weaving in ends and attaching to your hat J Use tapestry needle to add the threads to the football.
