What Will Your Donation Do?
$52 a year or $1 a week
- 52 children will get snacks through the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank
- 3 active duty military and their families will get emergency messages and have the opportunity for classes when they are deployed and return home
- 3 people will be able to attend lifesaving educational classes in CPR and other areas; materials will be able to be distributed to schools and business to educate and prevent injuries
- 3 Middle Georgia counties will be able to have access to information and resource referrals for social services by telephone
- 1 low income family or victim of fire or other disasters will receive clothing, food, or funds for rent or utilities
- 2 people will receive health, wellness and safety training and education
- 1 teen will be able to participate in sports and fitness programs which fosters teamwork and promotes healthy lifestyles
$156 a year or $3 per week
- 2 families can participate in First Steps where first time mothers are visited by a trained volunteer in the hospital after giving birth and offered support, education and referrals to community resources
- 2 youth will learn to support and influence their community, develop a positive self image, participate in the democratic process, respect others’ cultural identities, develop their creativity, learn skills for stress management and fitness
- 7 volunteers will be recruited, trained and placed in the community. For an extra $1 per week 3 more people can be taken off the waiting list
- 1 youth will have the opportunity to learn the importance of setting goals, prioritizing and obtaining an education, learn creativity through the arts, and to resist peer pressure
- 5 Houston County Volunteers will be trained to support their community needs
- 5 families can take part in therapeutic parenting classes for divorcing parents on how to “co-parent” their child
$260 per year or $5 per week
- 3 youth will receive character building, mentoring and educational programs that teach lifelong values, leadership and decision making skills
- 1 individual with disabilities will be able to participate in activities that are cultural, educational, social and promote physical fitness
- 3 individuals or family will receive individualized counseling relating to money and credit management
- 1 individual with physical and/or developmental disabilities will be provided with basic assistance so that they can become employed, live independently and develop life skills
- 1 Girl Scout Troop will be able to provide girls age 4-17 an informal educational program that will help them develop values and life skills, relate to others, contribute to the community, develop a positive self-image and good decision making skills
$520 a year or $10 week
- 1 family will learn to prepare for disasters or have their basic needs met after a disaster by the Red Cross
- 1 low income child in grades K-6 will be able to participate in an after school program that focuses on math, reading, computer classes, music and band lessons that has been designed specifically for them
- 1 homeless person or family will receive emergency shelter including lodging, meals, laundry, and caseworker assistance
- 1 working person without health insurance will receive medical care
- 2 children will be able to attend summer camp
- 1 to 3 hours a week a child will be able to go on outings or activities away from their home with a volunteer
- 1 individual or family will receive therapy in the areas of individual, marital, family, victim of crime, or substance abuse
- 1 woman that is the victim of domestic abuse will receive temporary shelter
- 1 person will receive home delivered meals and homemaker services for half a year
- 1 family will receive respite care for a loved one so that the primary caregiver can continue to work outside the home and maintain a more normal lifestyle
Over $520 a year or over $10 per week
- $1,000 would provide half a year of a half day childcare program for a low income family with a child age 3-5
- $1,800 would partially support a food pantry for a year
- $2,000 provides one to one caring and responsible adult mentors to 4 children ages 5 to 15
- $1,300 would provide home delivered meals for a homebound elderly person for 2/3 of a year
- $2,900 would lower the cost of helping a person with disabilities by helping them find employment and giving the employer education and providing consumer training
- $5,765 will cover most of the cost of affordable child care for a parent who is working or attending school
- $5,000 will partially fund services for one child with cerebral palsy
- $5,000 will help support the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of a patient and their family with a life-limiting illness in order for them to achieve the highest quality of life
- $2,500 will place a developmentally disabled person in community employment and enhance the potential of independent or semi-independent living.
