COURSE DESCRIPTION
AGENDA. The 5-day fundamentals course is suitable for both beginners and users who have some past experience with JKSimMet but need to refresh their knowledge of the basics. It will cover:
- Fundamentals of comminution simulation with JKSimMet v6.2 for Windows
- Effective use of the JKSimMet Graphic User Interface
- Full review of model-fitting, simulation and mass balancing
- Focus on SAG mill, ball mill, cyclone, screen and crusher models
- Review of ore breakage characterization and application to modeling
- Recommended approach to plant sampling for modeling purposes
- "Hands on" mass-balancing, modeling and optimization case study workshops
Attendees will receive all course notes, slides, course examples, utility spreadsheets and miscellaneous documentation on a thumb drive.
LAPTOP REQUIRED. Attendees must bring their own laptop, capable of running JKSimMet v6.2, preferably with their site's copy of JKSimMet v6.2 already installed, along with their site’s JKSimMet USB key. NOTE: for those attendees from companies without a JKSimMet license, a limited number of keys and copies of JKSimMet can be loaned for the course duration, but each attendee must still bring their own laptop).
SCHEDULE. Course runs 8 hours daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
COST OF COURSE. Cost of the course is $2,000 US per attendee. Registration must be received by no later than January 8, 2018 and either a purchase order, check or permission to invoice must be received by no later than January 22, 2018. Course Registration includes lunch and daily coffee breaks, thumb drive with course notes and examples, plus a copy of the JKMRC Textbook “Mineral Comminution Circuits: Their Operation and Optimisation”.

AIRLINE CONNECTIONS. Redding is served by Redding airport (RDD) just minutes from the Holiday Inn, and Sacramento Airport (SMF) -2 hours south of Redding by car on Interstate Hwy 5. United Airlines (United Express) has some 3-4 regional jet flights daily in and out of Redding from San Francisco. Sacramento is served by a large number of airlines. Redding is about 4-5 hours by car from Reno, NV and about 7 hours by car from Elko, NV.
