Entry Fee is £23, but £1 off if you entered in previous years.

4 Sections:-Minor grade is limit 145; and Major limit is 170, Open with no grading limit.

Playing Schedule:

Round 1 7:00 p.m. to 10:40 p.m.

Round 2 9:30 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Round 3 2:10 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.

Round 4 9:30 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Round 5 2:10 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.

6:10pm Prize Giving or as soon as the last game has finished.

Rate of Play 110 minutes to make all moves of the game. The organiser’s decision is final on all matters with regard to the congress.

Prizes:

Prizes in Minor Section Points means prizes:

5 points = £200

4.5 points = £100

4 points = £40

If nobody scores 5 points then £25 to everyone who scores 3.5 points

Prizes in the Major and Open sections:

1ST Prize = 40% of total entry fees in section

2ND Prize = 20% of total entry fees in section

Grading Prize= 10% of total entry fees in section

Grading Prize in Major section goes to the lowest graded player U161 who scores the most points. You can win a grading prize plus 1st prize or 2nd prize.

Directions:

The venue is up the hill from the Whitby Train Station. You walk out the train station, turn left and go up the hill for over quarter of a mile (about 20 minutes walk). Turn onto Upgang Lane over the roundabout and it is behind the garage. The Conservative Club shares its car park with the ESSO garage and the buildings are next door to each other.

If you are driving to Whitby from the North on the A174 the drive through Whitby town centre and up the hill. When the A174 emerges into the A171 drive onto the A171 and stop at the ESSO garage. If you are driving from the South via the A169 turn right onto the A171 and stop at the ESSO garage at the top of Upgang lane. The venue is behind the garage and easy to see.
